Thumbs up OverUnder fishing contest report

The gang met at slip on Thur and headed for the deep! Seas were 4's with a mixed bag of some 5-6, but laid down to lake like conditions by the time we reached Lindy.

Started troll right away and before dark we bagged 1/2 dozen mahis which was excellent last night for dinner!

We then started a no drift with not much current nor wind but managed to get a flurry of longfins. Jesse a new member brought aboard a longfin with the help of John, followed myself then lil tunny. All fish were 45-55 lb, class. The action slowed so we moved. The second spot yielded nothing than we head to the spencer.

We picked up 3 yellowfins right away, and the rest of the crew got a workout, John, Fanfly snores alot Dan, and Anthony.

The rest of the night was slow until John was doing his coffee jitters and the sun was about to pop. We then got 3 short takes of yellowfin and finally hooked one. It gave Anthony a run for his money but broke short under the boat just before gaffing.

All the fish were caught on large sardines throughout the night I believe.

Overall it was a good trip and fun to meet new people from the board. The crew at over under Trey and Peter were excellent and worked hard to put us on top of fish. Thanks guys!

John thanks for the gift and it is greatly appreciated by us all!!!!!!!!

I found out before reading this here...

I talked to Trey this morning...he's a good guy...offered to get me out knowing that our motor is down...

He and his crew definitely work hard to get on the meat...I haven't heard of the Over Under coming back without fish yet...

Now that you finally bought the right rod, you can kick some ass! Let me know how it turns out. What reel you gettin for it??

"Outta breath climing the roof", that's why they make this thing called a "ladder"

Don't know yet. May go with a tall and narrow spool Avet, or the small Tiagra. I don't think the trinidad star drag has enough?! At least for the long run. I want something for the BIG BOYS in NC

Basically I want the crank power and speed of the Trinidad but the lever drag of Tiagra
