Thumbs up Overnight - July 3-4

We fished the fingers outside the fleet Saturday morning and got our bluefin and a good size mahi then ran deep. Found bad water south of the Baltimore and ran to the Wilmington before dark. Got lots of mahi then it got really rough. Took a beating overnight... Checked my sirius weather and laughed at the 1-3 to 2-4 ft report. It was a 6+ foot chop with a minimal period. Headed back after keeping a mako at 3 am and could only make under 10 knots. Bait was so thick that the screen was lit up all over. Have pics of the screen shot I will post later. Schools of bait so thick in the lights that we could walk over them... Had one bigeye or giant yellowfin over150 swim through the so read when we first were setting baits. Sad we couldn't stay all night but had beaten up everyone on the boat too much. It was brutal but the fishing was great. very happy with the look and function of my new rods.

    1 80 lb bluefin
    1 200 lb mako
Tons of gaffer mahi and smalls
    Released 2 other makos

Nice to have a good catch when it is rough. Sure makes the time go faster...

Nice trip gang... especially the dolphin on 5 weight. Can you tell me who makes your trolling rods?
