OVERNIGHT BILLFISH TOURNAMENT

Sunday, July 29, 2007 - August 4th, 2007

Once again it comes to be that time of the year again where weather and temps mean everything in the world to us.

The Ocean City Marlin & Tuna Club invites you to compete for over $50,000.00 in cash and prizes in the thirteenth annual Overnight Billfish Tournament.

This event will start Sunday, July 29, 2007, and run through August 4th, 2007.

The tournaments flexible format will allow boats to leave any inlet between Barnegat Inlet to Cape May Inlet


Fishing is captains choice of one of the five nights after dinner.

Boats may leave anytime after 5AM, fishing is from 8AM until 11AM the following morning at which time fishing will cease.

The weigh in will be held at Sunday Harbor in Ocean City between 2nd and 3rd Streets (Look for the purple house) The scales will be open at 1PM and will close at 4PM each day.

The tournament will come to a close on Saturday, August 4th. Complimented by an awards BBQ and cocktail party at Tony Faraco's deck, 15 Barbados Lane, Ocean City, NJ.

Tournament Prizes for the folllowing catagories:

Billfish Release
Swordfish (Heaviest over 100lbs)
Mako Shark (Heaviest over 54")
Tuna
Dolphin
Wahoo
Junior Angler


Grand prizes will be determined and awarded to the boat that accumulates the greatest number of total of points of billfish releases, swordfish points, dolphin points, mako points, and wahoo points.

Billfish 75 Points
Swordfish Boated 1 point per 100 pounds
Tuna 1 point per pound over 50 pounds (Limit 5 fish)
Wahoo 1 point per pound (Limit 5 fish)
Dolphin are 1 point per pound (Limit 5 fish & Min. 5lb weight)
Mako Shark 1 point per pound over 54" and 100 lbs (Limit 1 Mako)

This 1 of the best tournaments I have ever fished. We have fished it many times but are going to skip it this year since it buts up with the WMO.

Hey, I recognize that outrigger with the 4 whities, tunes, and dollie flag. Admititly the only guy around who hangs em on the Port side
good enough for 3rd place after the sea mistress and Viking. Pro boats, vs. hacker

There have been some increses in prize money this year. 1st Place is now $10,000. Total cash and prizes of over $50,000.

Be sure to enter by July 1st, there will be a drawing at the Opening Banquet for a paid entry into the tournament.

Trey - The standard calcutta has been $600 per boat in the past. I'm not 100% sure if it is staying the same or if it may have a small increase.

Payout structure is:
40% Billfish Releases
40% Tuna
10% Dolphin
10% Wahoo

Also new for this year is the Super Calcutta mentioned above.
