Over Under Adventures - Bahamas Night Bottom Fishing Photos, Tuna Warm Up!

We had the chance to do some great bottom fishing at night last week, just after the Full Moon. While the day time offshore bite was a bit slower than we'd like, we couldn't have asked for anything more from our bottom fishing. Great catches of BIG Yellowtail, Mutton Snapper, Grouper, and lots of other assorted stuff. This got all of our juices going for the upcoming Overnight Tuna Season...damb, somtimes I think those Muttons fight harder than some of the Yellowfin we catch!

Me on the loosing end of a battle with a really nice mutton, than ended up feeding the sharks. Only 100' to get them up and the sharks still got their share. We got the head, which proved to be the best bait the rest of the night....We were using the exact same rig we use to chunk tuna...Penn 16's with 80 pound Suffix Braid, on a Penn Stand-Up 30-80# Rod.
