    Outriggers

I have a 23' feet mako and I had an aluminium built soft ttop I really don't know if it can hold a pair of top mounted out riggers but I don't like the idea of having the side mounted outriggers with all the lines from the rods hanging around the boat. Also do they hold spreader bars with teaser reels? Can you use rods from the rod holders in the t top all the way to the side mounted outriggers? What about clamp on outriggers from tigress are they any good?

Your top should easilly hold out riggers. You will need a mounting plate like this one except I would use a welded in plate:

Then, just drop a set of Taco Grand Slams in from the top and bolt them down. Good instructions come with the kit. Stay away from the Tigress.

Taco's are strong enough to hold spreader bars. I run bars and chains from the teaser reels to a glass eye on my outrigger pole. Nice setup.

You can use the rocket launcher rod holders but that is not ideal. On my boat they are to high to be easilly accesed when you get a fish on or need to clean grass or make adjustments to the spread. Your rods should go in the gunnel rod holders or in the leaning post.

    Good Luck

Would you recommend the tigress clamp on outriggers? Or do they put too much pressure to the frame of the t-top?

    Thumbs up T-Top outriggers

My last boat was a 24 ft Hydra-Sports with t-top mounted outriggers. I had no problems. I'm selling the set of Taco 15 ft outriggers from that boat with mounts and all the installation hardware if you're interested. 516-607-4343. Tom
