Nice day on the water..... Tough bite.....
Left Cape May inlet around 345am in Heavy fog and a bit of a heave... Along for the ride were Capt Jr, myself, Capt Mike of the N-Y-CELY Done boat, The Big Unit Ralph, and Mikey the LOCAL KNOWLEDGE on board the 36 ft Yellowfin,Out on a Limb 4....
set coarse for the Food Court and arrived to find real good readings down deep with bait and fish mixed in nicely..... Capt Mike and crew set out the birds and ballyhoo's and the troll began... and we trolled and trolled and trolled over excellent readings but to no avail......
By mid to late morning Capt Jr had seen enough and we pulled lines and headed back to where we started... Marked fish good and chunk lines were sent down on the slow drift as sea conditions laid down perfectly..... Jr and I decided to jig instead with 12 oz Hammered Diamonds... Within minutes Jr was hooked up and had a 47 inch Bluefin to the boat, that fought nicely on the Shimano trevala rod.....
After landing his I too was smashed 2x but was unable to hook up.... also 2 chunk lines had quick run offs but that was it....
Headed for home with Jrs fish and plenty of good memories....
