One of the nice things about Chub is you drop the riggers at the last channel marker and set out the spread..no long runs to and can troll the edges all the way down into the corners of the pocket which is about 13 miles i think.

Wow!!! that place looks amazing.. Hope to see it myself one day... Glad to see you back out there!!!!
The medium size cupped pusher head in the photos made it into Deep's spread on a permanent basis..he loved the action on it.
So it now partners with the "Masher" on short rigger tag line duty, Masher on the left and the Cup on the right.
Yet to earn it's stripes there, the name will change to the "Chub Cup" when it does.
Chum...it was great being back in the pit at a phenominal fishery as the "Chub Pocket" is. Deepie has the edges mastered and knows every little special corner and hump along the edges. I was amazed at his ability to follow the contours and stay right over the shallow 400' edge or the deeper edges that can be seperated by only a riggers width at times..then the proclamation came the second day of trolling.."I think im' approaching the 1000 day mark here in the pocket"...it was apparent my friend really knew this water.
I was rusty, good on the first day then the second day it kicked in..not tin man ... but certainly whiffed my share along with the Deep's deckie, between the two of us we sucked..period. Although..the deckie came alive late in the 9th with a triple drop back and stayed with it that finally gave us our little white for the day..he was "on" for that one, impressive. A solid, pleasant mate, that can rig a hoo quick and right.
Spread is mandated by the Bahamas to 6 rods..Deep's spread was 2 long riggers with hoo's and a "chub special" front bumper on each, two tag lines on the short riggers with the Masher and the our medium Cup for lures/teasers and two flat lines with hoo's rigged special like ive' never seen before.
So...all in all a great trip...great fishing..learned a ton from the Deep Master..and dropped some rust in the pit of the Mirage..all good.
I would go back to Chub in a heartbeat on the moon.
