Bluefin Bite is ON!!!!
OU stays hot taking another tournament win under their belt for the year. We had both Pretty Work and Low Profile booked for the Jersey Shore Classic. It didn’t take long as setting our lines out we both had some nice fish on . We made quick work of our 68 inch fish while Pretty Work was in for a battle. Sometimes when these fish get hooked in the nose they seem to battle for hours and they landed their 70 inch fish after a 5 hour fight. Back at the scales Low Profiles' fish weighed 161 while Pretty Work weighed 171. These fish are the two biggest fish ever weighed in the Jersey Shore Classics 13 year history. We would like to thank Sean for putting up a great event as normal with proceeds going to a great cause.
We had a good amount of 12 hour trips this week with the bluefin bite red hot. This week we boated fish to 70 inches on the Pretty Work and Low Profile. So far we have remained with trolling for these fish with great success. We have concentrated fishing around the Lobster Claw area. All of our bites are coming on horse ballyhoo trolling with a sea witch skirt with crystal being the color of choice.
On Thursday we had both boats out and had unbelievable fishing. Pretty Work pulled off a couple fish in the morning and shortly after we both boated some nice yellowfin up to 35 lbs. Around ten we both got hot and heavy into the action and hooked up to triple headers of bluefins to 70 inches. We landed all 6 between the boats with all fish between 65 and 70 inches. We also continue to land some dolphin every day in this same area.
We expect the bluefin bite to remain red hot for the upcoming weeks. We continue to watch a nice eddy coming in from the northern canyons with yellowfin, marlin and dolphin in the mix. Till next week tight lines. We will be putting a crew together for the WMO fishing for these tuna so stay tuned!!!!
Congrats to Captain's Joe Trainor & Anthony Frascatore!!
