OU - Bahamas Based Sportfish Available for Lease

OVER UNDER – 54’ Bertram

We wanted to take a minute and invite anyone considering leaving their boat state-side this season to take a look at what we’ve got set up here in the Bahamas. Our boat is here, are large part of the expense all ready incurred. So we are hoping some folks might opt to come use ours. This means no reposition/fuel cost from FL to Bahamas, and back.

The OVER UNDER has gone through a major renovation and has been largely remodeled and upgraded. New AC’s throughout, Vacuflush freshwater heads, remodeled interior, carpet, electronics, are just some of the highlights. The boat looks and runs better than it has since well before we bought it. We finished up our Bahamas season last year with Over Under and will be starting back up in a few weeks. The boat has 3 staterooms and 3 private heads. It is the perfect live-aboard boat. It cruises a very easy 20-22 knots burning about 45 gph with twin Man diesels. Dual gensets and 1200 gallons of fuel, make this a go anywhere (for a while) type of boat.

(OU At Anchor in the Abacos)

Of course we do our normal fishing 3 to 5 day Bahamas vacation packages, and charter fishing, but we encourage Private Sport Fish Owners to come use our boat. It is available, professionally rigged and maintained, and ready to fish. This has always been part of what we do here in the Islands, we just haven’t really promoted it here, but it is becoming a larger part of our overall business, as more people opt out of larger sportfish or stop traveling with them.

The boat is available for weekly or longer “leases”. “Lease the boat” and use it as your own. You set the agenda, you supply whatever tackle, crew, bait, etc, you want to bring. Typically we leave a captain aboard (or can get a room, so you have the boat to yourself), to assist in vessel upkeep, planning, etc.

Looking to get down to Crooked Island, Diana Bank, Acklins, or even further south? This boat has been there before and is set up for extended cruising. Want to pull into Atlantis for a day or two, no problem. Take an island hopping cruise with the whole family and enjoy all the sites and attractions that the Abacos has to offer. The possibilities are pretty much endless, and we’ve been all over the Islands, so we’ve got plenty of helpful advice on planning your perfect trip.

(OU Galley)

The boat is top notch and ready to fish any serious Billfish Tournament in a moment’s notice. The boat can be entered in all legs of the BBC this year. Our tackle is 100% Penn and most is less than two years old. See our full inventory of tackle below. The boat is based in the Abacos starting in late November, 2009 and will be going to the southern Bahamas in both January, and again in May. The boat can be pre-positioned wherever you’d like it, but it is very cost effective to use it where it is!

(OU Salon)

We have a weekly rate of $5000-7,000 plus expenses set for the 2010 Season. Compare this to typical weekly charters leaving out of Lauderdale (with big reposition expenses), of 10,000 per week and up. Longer term leases are available and are negotiable, if you want to talk about a 2-4 week arrangement. If you want to use the boat for accommodations, and stay aboard, that is 100% ok. We also have great deals worked out on rooms with several resorts.

(Treasure Cay Beach)

We currently have a 19’ Key West Center Console over in the Abacos that we use for our own running around diving, etc. We are willing to talk about throwing this in for the week also (in the Abacos).

Just because you aren’t bringing your boat to the Bahamas, doesn’t mean you have to miss out this year! Let us take the hassle out of the equation, and keep your cost down. Come use our boat and just let us know how you’d like the trip to go down, so we can properly provision the boat for your stay.

Tackle Inventory:

3 Penn 70VS
3 Penn 50VSW
1 Penn 80VSW
2 Penn 16VSX
2 Penn GLD 30II
2 Penn 450's Spinning Set-Ups
2 Penn 760's Spinning Set-Ups

Kristal Electric Deep Dropping Rod/Reel Set-Up

Tackle – We are fully loaded, but encourage you to bring anything you want.

Don’t see something you’d like? Ask, we’ve got LOTS more in storage state-side.

- Tight Lines,

Trey

Thumbs up

For anyone considering the Abaco's or Southern Bahama islands Trey, Joe, Thomas and the whole team at OverUnder, have put together a great plan here. I had the pleasure of meeting them and spent two weeks in Treasure Cay last year aboard the Low Profile, fished every day but one due to some inbound/outbound arrivals.
These guys fish hard, we caught everything, blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, shortbill spearfish, wahoo, tuna, dolphin to 50 or 60 lbs, as well as a day deep dropping for muttons, yellow tails, etc., several ice cold Kaliks and wild boar at Nippers and several of the all to plentiful "Guana Grabbers".
The fishing grounds are as little as 10 miles from the marina at Treasure. Previously we had positioned our boat from here, as we enjoyed "Our own accomodations", well that has changed, these guys let you be the boss and decide where, when and what to fish for or do, like an afternoon at Nippers or Marsh Harbour, if positioned at Treasure, without the expense and logistics of getting your boat there and then back.
This year I've decided to try the southern end, as haven't been there for a while and have already booked for three weeks!
Again anyone needing to get away for great "winter fishing", this is the "Reel Deal", don't miss a great opportunity!

Been asked to update on schedules and availability for the Southern Bahamas

Southern Bahamas - May 21-28, and May 31-June 7 currently available, departing out of Cat Island area.

Southern Bahamas - January 25 - February 8, currently available, departing out of Cat Island area.

Keep in mind, this saves a lot of $ as the boat is all ready there. We will position the boat anywhere, anytime the boat is not booked..just trying to make this as economical as possible...and get people where they want to go, when the boat is all ready posiitioned close by...

We may keep the boat down souther longer into June and even July, but that will be based on bookings as we move into the Winter. Crooked Island in June and July would sound pretty good to me....
