    Oregon Inlet in the spring

If you had to pick 2 weeks to fish out of OI in the spring for yellowfin, mahi, etc., which weeks?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chad

Yellowfin last week of May first week of June. Favorite weeks.
    Dolphin 2nd-4th week of June.

Watch the reports from OI fishing center and you will know when to go.

The YFTs may or maynot be in thick in the begining of May and the weather is more unpredictable then. I like the last week of May - 3rd week of June. The weather is more predictable and there are more species to target including YFTs and Dolphin....Mark

How about early May any thing biting? Will be bringing the boat from Fla around then and would like to stop for a couple of days. Any insight would be appreciated.

I just looked through my logs for the last 3 years I fished OI in early May and it looks like I caught mostly nice Mahi in big numbers and a few Wahoo..a couple of YFT were boated early may....end of may lots of YFT and a couple of big-eye's.....that's just me though...I run a 28 Southport center console not a big charter....Bob

Early May can be tough out of OI. I have set at the docks for a week straight due to Crappy weather and fog. And then if your lucky to get out only get a day or two. Of course we are in a smaller boat than most. Im with bobdu11 on this one. Your best bet would be Hatteras March through the first week or two of May. Like I said earlier keep a eye on the OI fishing center reports and you will know when the YFTs are there. We have fished the day trip from Hatteras to OI in May and had a great time. Most of the Fish were south of the Point. The first of June most will run due east or South east of OI but north of the Point to get into the Tuna. If you want more dolphin then run further to the point. The Bigeyes a seem to be on the northern edge of the YFTs Late May and early June. pay attention to where the stream is and the water temps. Here is a pick of one of those Pea-soup days in mid May out of OI!!

    May/June

Looks like we are gonna bring the boat to Pirates Cove for the last week in May/first week of June. We are most likely gonna fish the tuna tournament, but I may be short handed.
Thanks for all the info. to those who replied.
