Went out on a private rig thursday. When I got up at 4 am,I noticed it was light enough to see with out your headlights on... Oh me, hate it when its like that! Well ,we set out in what seemed like good enough water to me. I saw the Trophy Hunter out of OIFC stop several times and knew he was hooked up. It sure is hard on someone elses boat, to be in the cockpit and try to get them on the fish. Any how our day was zip. nilch, zero! Our plan was to troll awhile and then go bottom fishing. Well the current was ripping and the wind got up so about 11:00 we stuck to trolling. About 1:00 the wind died off so we went to bottom fish and thank God, the first line down produced three nice size black bass. We stayed for about two hours and had a dozen nice tile, 15 nice bass to about 4lbs, about 12 throwbacks and one snowy about 8 lbs. Bottom fishing saved our day... The charter boats did pick out a catch of tunas, but I think the moon really hurt us. Tunas are still here, wish I had a crew!
