i would say keep it simple , and relax. to many get too excited when the bite happens. that marlin only wants to eat. its not alot different than playing with a finicky flounder.its good to go to central america where you get 20 bites a day just to learn "calm down and feed him the bait". after you do it a few times you can almost feel him open his mouth. its time!

NEVER leave a steady bite for the hot bite you hear of on the radio.

Thanks for the tips, let keep them up! If I get enough im thinking of putting them into a notebook of some kind to always have to kill time while waiting for the bite. Keep them rolling.

    Match it up

Match the fish with the tackle.

It's more fair for the fish and better on the angler as far as fight time and drag pressure.

Adjust the drag to each part of a big fish fight. light drag on the crazy runs, heavy drag to break their spirit. Make it quick and sweet.

Bait and switch is the funnest in fishing take the hooks out of your lures!!

    Match The Hatch...

Don't be afraid to cut open your first fish and see what they are feeding on, try to duplicate it if possible and have a banner day...

Always gaff a tuna you plan on keeping over the back near the head never underneath in the belly. And slice a hole in her pectoral fin slot while shes still alive so she bleeds out good

When a tuna strikes dont stop as hard as it may be keep trolling. Chances are you'll entice more fish to the spread
