    OIL SPILL

Ok guys.....this oil spill is really starting to upset me. How can they have 100's of these rigs out there, and never expect an issue like the one we are dealing with with to arise with no emergency response plans set in place at all??????! I know we feel far away up here in NJ, but seeing in the news today that the oil has reached the keys, isn't it bound to continue up the gulf stream and affect our whole offshore season moving to the Carolinas first and continuing on up? I was worried before, but now I am really concerned that even the northeast canyons may see the repercussions of this abomination right smack in the middle of bluewater season, not to mention all the ill effects it will have on the ocean as a whole for a long time to come. Steve,( F.STOP) is down there cleaning it up, and told me they are skimming over 200 barrels of oil off the surface per day on their boom.

    Angry

It is an unbelievable mess to be sure and the word is that it may be 5 times worse than they are saying. It is pretty obvious that they were caught with their pants down.

I watched the CNN report with one of the survivors the other night on the computer. Brought tears to my eyes several times.

The screwed up thing is that they knew the goddamn blowout seal was in trouble and, typical corporate bullshit, they just let the thing keep pumping for the sake of the almighty dollar.

With all those guns you guys have there in the USA you'd think some of you would stand up and use them once in a while!!! Someone at BP needs a pistol whipping.

    Tar Balls

Well some semi-goods news the tar ball on the keys beaches are not from the Deepwater Horizon disaster. The USCG and EPA will oversee the tar ball clean up. I hope the flow from the blowout get stopped some as I fish off Virginia.

Perhaps, But the is a lot of natural seepage of crude off all our Coasts. I spent 20 years in the Emergency Services business. I read about a 1,000,000 BBBls seep out int the Gulf of Mexico alone.

    Think Progress:

BP's daily profits dwarf the daily cost of spill response, and at the current rate, the company could cover the entire cost of cleanup thus far in just under four days of profits.
