Sunday started at the 550 just outside the temp break in 72 degs. Went 1 for 8 on yellowfins around 40-50lb class fish, lots of missed opportunities, lost one at the gaff to a chaffed leader, a couple rubber hooks, but ended up with one on ice right at 40lbs.
Monday started around the 600 by ourselves, canyon runner was working the cold water change, we went NE along the edge, picked up one 50lb YFT in the 71 deg water, then about an hour later had a screamer, knew it was not a yellow, cleared lines reel quick and spun around and got on top of her. (we were only setup for yellows, this fish was on a penn 6/0 with 50lb mono) Chased and fought for, 2 hours, finally gaffed him 69" 160lb BFT. We were 62 miles from OI at 4pm when we were done with him, long ride back, but well worth it.
