today we tested fishing with rubber hooks....At least that what it seemed....Left Shallowbag around 530 heading out of oregon inlet. Ugly!!! I'm not quite sure how big the last wave was on the bar but I do know it was big and breaking. Ron, (fishskipper), thanks for letting me get up behind you.... absolutely gorgeous once across the bar. Headed down to around 480 line and set baits in 100 fathoms. Hooked up 1st yellowfin within 5 minutes. Lil 30lb yeller in the box. Hooked up again, line came tight, angler on rod, then nothing. That happened a couple more times. Got another yeller around the same size. Colder water pushed out into our spot and tuners left also. Had trouble finding them the rest of the day. They would pop up for about 15 seconds then back down again. Purple/pink was the color combo of choice. Had a great crew of Connor(C-note), Carson (Carson-Mac), my buds Gerry, Tilford and Barry. 2 for 8 is still better than not going at all....I didn't get any pics myself but maybe the other guys did and could post them.
