    OI on Cinco de Mayo

Started out leaving with the fleet and the inlet was nasty!!!! Forcast was 2-4 footers and it was actually 4-6 with bigger waves mixed in. Some pucker factor but the Glacier Bay handled everything the water could throw. Got near the Point and started to troll with a 45lb tuna soon to follow. Just after that we had a real screamer but pulled the hook. Around 11 we got a gaffer but that was it for keepers. We did have two identical Makos eat a green machine and a blue/white islander. We have never caught one, so needless to say we were pretty pumped. They were in the 40" range I guess and both released unharmed. Slow day but good to have some tuna!!!

Thanks for the report, Nice yellowfin, OI is a nasty inlet sometimes. I saw a report that two commercial boats were lost on the shoals the other day. How far is it to the point?
