    OI - Best tuna wind?

I was looking at wind direction and speeds for the outer banks today Not looking good, but was wondering what folks thought the best wind direction was.

When I fished out of wanchese I always liked a SE. Got your butt whooping out of the way in the morning, caught fish and had an easy ride home.

But down in morehead and the water type there, east is dead.

    Not sure anymore
Echoing Perfectscore's statement. Any North wind is good. NE is the best. Problem is it gets choppy and the inlet blows the F up. You really need a big boat to fish those days but damn do the tunas snap.

Seems like SE to NE works the best for us but that being said have done well on a SW. I think the trick is landing on top of them at first light. I hate fishing a NE wind we get our butts kicked!!!

Southeast the least "aint even good for sailing to elizabeth city" say the old timers around here! I would say a moderate NE wind is the best around here.
