Offshore yesterday, March 13th on 25 Contender

Well spring is here....finally. What a beautiful day on the water yesterday. Took a man from New Bern, NC. offshore in my 25 yesterday. We fished a little bit to the north, mid to high 600's. 30-80 fathoms. Started fishing about 7:30 yesterday morning. Trolled for 5 minutes and caught an albacore, not much going on in the fleet at this time, other than a slaughter of king mackeral to the south of me, not our intended species. Continued to fish up the beach, on some old stomping grounds than BINGO! Left flat and right long go off. We get the fish to the boat and the first one is 25# yellowfin and the other is a 50+ lb. wahoo. ON THE DECK. Both on mono. Set the stuff back out fished around a little bit, worked off a little deeper, BINGO AGAIN. Two more yellowfins and another wahoo at the same time. ON THE DECK. Set the stuff out again fished about two hours with out a bite.....then BINGO again, back on the same mark of bait from earlier that morning. Cover up. Ended up catching two more yellowfins, a blackfin and a wahoo at the same time in that round. Set the stuff out for the last time, caught another tuna, king and amberjack....fished another hour and smoked it to the house. 41 knts........ The day was perfect, beautiful day, calm seas and decent fishing. All of our bites were on top, all were on mono, all but two were on sea witches, (EXTREME WITCHES of course)

and our final tally was 5 yellowfins, 1 blackfin, 3 wahoo, a king and amberjack and a albacore. God I love this stuff. From what I have been hearing from the other boats out yesterday....you put a woopin on everyone else out there.

Not like that's a big surprise though, your used to doing that.

wahoo on mono always adds a little spice to an already exciting event.

What color squitches were they after, any in particular? I'm going north to the Georgetown hole (N from Chas, SC) on sat, weather permitting. we should be getting some of the fish that are just south of you guys, so any fish you release, point them in my direction
