    Offshore Wrightsville late report, 11/20/11

Due to business I haven’t gotten to a report until now, So apologies for being a day late!

Anyway, started out the day loaded with excitement as it was my dad’s birthday, and the maiden voyage on the new In My Dreams! Met the inlet to find rough seas, but we pushed through still averaging 30 mph. Got to the gulf and begin trolling. Nothing. Put out the Jigs and began getting harassed by these guys...

    and a Kitty Mitchel grouper.

So we moved to the Same ol and things where still slow. Finally after an hour of work or so we had one fish freight train us and a knockdown, but at the same time we boated this guy.. ;-)

Trolled for hours and hours doing nothing but pulling weed off our lines. So we decided to go do what we do best. Within a few minutes we where slinging pinkies, grunts, bass, and b-liners into the boat. That is, if we didn’t get smashed by the ever so annoying shark.

Hit one more ledge, and had the same luck. By now it was around 4:45, and daylight was slipping away from us. With 55 miles to run we hit the throttle and cruised in at a solid 50-55 mph, with plenty more throttle left to give if needed. Was nice until the last 10 miles or so it kicked up again. All in all, not what we where hoping for but it was better than any of the long days I have had at school, or my dad has had at work. We got our salt air fix/boat ride and that’s what counts! Here are a few more random pix from the trip…

    comfy cruisin'...

Headed back out tomorrow for a half day, near shore gag trip. Hopefully we will have more blood to show for it! I got some videos, and will hopefully get around to getting those up soon enough!
