I have been pretty busy fishing on my new contender and fishing has been solid to spectacular. with lots of jigging and topwater action filled in with some chummimg action. I had days where we caught the majority of our fish using frenzy poppers then go out and caught them all jigging the next day. The best fish I managed to pull out of the week was a 190 pound yf on a chunk line.



The wahoo bite was a little slow but One of my guys managed to snag a 70 pound hooter.



I took Joe FLores on saturday and we hit a couple wahoo and a handful of blackfin on poppers. Sunday we decided to do something different and started off with yellowfin on poppers and then the chunk bite took off and we landed 15 yf before noon.



I headed out tuesday with orders for big tuna and that wasnt in the cards. Robert and the guys did snag a couple hooters before we took off to the south. First pass we doubled up on yf on the chunk but after that it slowed. I was still marking fish around 200 feet deep so I dropped a jig and we caught 7 yf in the next hour and a half on the jig to finish up our limit.



I went out the next day with Raul Perez and his Buddy Shawn. We caught 4 on the jig real quick before that bite shut down and we went with chunking to finish up our limit.



I had a few of Houstons Finest on my boat one day. John Roberts and his buddy who went by the name of Shaq. I cant remember his real name but shaq fit cause he was a big dude.



Shaq jigged up a couple of yf and we caught 4 more on the chunk before the bite shut off. We caught plenty of blackfin jigging as well before we called it a day.



They wanted Wahoo for the next day and each guy managed to get their first wahoo as well as a few amberjacks for the dinner table.

Is that Amber Jack? I thought you couldnt eat it. I saw a program about how it has cigulalre or what ever they call that reef virus. I know I spelled it wrong but do you know what I mean? thansk......Im so thankful, I put the S before the K.

Cigateura can affect any reef fish that eats other fish I.e snapper grouper amberjack and barracuda but it is mainly a carribean problem the northern gulf fish are safe from that problem
