Offshore seas real nasty this morning

Wednesday am: Our boat got 15 miles out this morning and turned around and another 50 foot charter boat came back also because of rough seas out of Cape May. Just thought I would mention this in case any others are considering going offshore later today or this evening.

I read your post earlier today Capt. John, thanks. I wanted to run to the canyon today to see if Irene brought in anything good, but I couldn't get it together. After your post I'm not feeling so bad about staying at the dock.

I also looked at the Buoy information this morning and the forecasts. The forecast for this morning within 20 miles was great...2ft. Talk about getting it wrong. Even the Buoy info wouldn't have made a difference as at 3am the Del Bay buoy winds were light. They kicked up to over 25 through the morning hours with 5 - 6' waves...like mother nature saw you coming.
