Tommy, thats a very tough question. I have done at least 10 trips on the GB this year and can give you a very accurate comparison.

Kennys boat has 130hondas and mine has 200 suzukis. The main difference between the GB and the WC is that he cruises out at 25MPH and I cruise out at 30KTS. big big speed difference. as im sure you know, the GB is a full displacement hull and the WC is a semi displacement hull. They do ride differently. Mine will bounce more than his will, but i still have a soft landing. . . most of the time. Mine will "bang" every now and then when it is launched out of the water. The GB does not really do that. When trolling, they both have that hull slap but i think mine tracks a little straighter. When im running slowly, i def think mine tracks better using the auto pilot, but at speed, i think the GB tracks straighter with the auto pilot. Granted, i dont really use my auto pilot that much while running. Cats are tough to just set the course and let it go. I really prefer to drive the boat myself. I feel it makes for a much better ride. While drifting, they are pretty much the same. the GB might have a little more of a snap roll than the world cat, but it really isnt so much of a difference that you would need to worry about it.

In a following sea, neither one of them are that great, but if i had to pick one, it would be the world cat. Mine will not dig in as much as the GB, but if you switch that to a quartering sea comin from behind. . .i might go with the GB. in that situation, the WC digs in a lot more than the GB.

tommy, if you want, give me a call and ill give you a lot more info. . . 240-461-6525.

both are great boats. I love speed, so the wc was a no brainer. I also like the layout of the cabin model on the WC vs. the GB. We joke around, when we are chunkin, we take the GB, but when we are trolling, we take mine. It works out well having the choice of both boats. They are both built very solid and both have some nice bells and whistles. Although i am a little bias, if I had to pick one, i would go with the WC.

im running out of time right now. . . but ill get into how they both fish a little later. this season, the WC raised a lot more fish. . .lol

Thumbs up

That is the best (most honest) comparison of these 2 boats I have ever seen

Hey John,

thanks, it was more for the benefit of others, but i was curious as i know u are a WC owner and have fished both a bunch. I own a GB and have fished in a WC several times. That GB is slow only due to power - with 130 Hondas it is a slug - with real 150's they cruise at 28 knots at 4400 rpm no problem - still slower than WC but not by much at cruise. Top speed the WC blows it away. I found the WC slaps a LOT more than the GB, but maybe that was just the seas on those trips (about 10). I think the WC does drift better without the snappiness of the GB, again not a huge diff.

The new 32' WC is a beast, a real fishing machine. I would love to fish one with 250's! I think the 34' GB is a total joke as a fishing boat.

I was intrigued by the 26' Express TwinVee at the boat show - they have a 29' coming, and promise the speed of a WC, supposedly better ride (we'll see) but for around 100k - be hard to beat as the cabin in 26' was huge, i really liked it. I want to do more overnighters with the fuel sit as well as its just more fun - i used to do a lot of them, got away from them for 10 years or so, now back to it!

WTG on the fish! I had a one engine return trip in August ... same slow deal, except no tow, so I can understand your pain. We came back with no fish, though!

WTG John, thanks for the report. Glad you got in okay. Glad it doesn't seem like it was too bad of a situation, safety wise.
