Mike,
On another topic, have you ever had issues with your hydro's on your steering. I see you have a WorldCat and my seastar has been giving me grief for the past 2 years with leaks. Every mechanic I talk to says this is a common issue on WC's? Any thoughts?

My dad and I run a WC 270TE. For what it's worth, we've rebuilt or replaced both seastar cylindars three times in the last four years. I never heard of WCs being a problem for seastar systems, but maybe there is something to that. Ours (both engines) develop a leak at the seal. The way I can tell is by the air bubble feeling in the steering, which get's worse over time.

John, good to hear you stuck with your plan and at least got some action. Looks like I'll be in OC this weekend and taking a girls trip on the Cat....the girls will be my excuse not to mess with butters. My wife's Bday is Sunday...she now wants to catch a white....I'll catch up with you closer to the weekend.

Larry, Thanks for the heads up. We have the same issue and the same symptoms in the steering. We are going to fix both cylinders this fall prior to the striper bite and be back on it. We will see how long that lasts. The good thing is that we can refill and bleed the system fairly easy with 2 of us if it gets bad and this seems to last for a few months.

It is a pain though.

Josh, what type of problems have you had? The only issues i have had were breaking the line and the fluid would leak out right under the wheel at the helm...it actually was a nervous situation because that stuff turned the deck into an ice rink...it was like spilling menhadden oil on the deck. That happened twice and has not happened again. Give Kenny or his wife donna a call at Starboard Marine - 410-352-0000 and tell him I sent you (John...lol) He will take very good care of you. The only time I go elswhere is with honda specific issues and then I call north bay. Tommy Fowler (fowlscay on sfc) does their sales there and if you tell him you are from SFC he will certainly take good care of you.

Thanks I will give them a shout. We use to leak from the helm but i replaced all the seals up there and that stopped. Now it is always at the cylinders, same side and same amount leaks. Seems to stop after the it gets to a certain level. thanks again,
