    OC Sharkers Tournament report

fished on the 2 Far Out with Capt Al, Mike, Justin and Charlie.

Day 1 fished down at the washington lumps and caught a small tiger and a small mako. released both. frustrating day because we saw threshers jumping everywhere but we couldn't get them in the slick. had a couple mystery run-offs

Day 2 - Started a little south of the pimple and had a great drift over the pimple and the first sausage. Caught 5 duskies and had a big hammerhead swim through the slick. Also had another big brown shark come through the slick as we were fighting one of the duskies.

two productive days of shark fishing just not the right flavor of sharks.

Thanks Capt Al. Had a great time.

We had a very similar tourny except we spent both days in Massey's. Day one tons of bluefish and dusky's, had one nice thesher hooked up briefly. We also jigged a bluefin on a diamond jig while drifitng. Day two more bluefish and Dusky's than day one. Had a nice mako in the slick for awhile but he never ate.

Sounds like you guys had more life than us.... we fished B buoy day 1 in hopes for a pig thresher, saw a big boy free jumping about 100 yards away but never showed up to eat.... second day we ran out to the fingers and had a big ass mako chase in my boone bird teaser i was sending in and out on an electric reel, but he took off...... few rat mako releases day two and that was pretty much it.... kind of a a dull tournament for our boat, but thats why i guess it is called fishing..... the 244 mako that won was caught in masseys, on a bluefish with an orange skirt.... he said they drug it for 2 straight hours and the ***** was still alive.... those mako's are unreal. congrats to all the boats who had success.

Man I knew Massey's was where we should be. I even talked my crew into spending day two in the same spot. I guess they just got luckier than we did.
