OC Rockpile "Reel Fantasy" Report

Went to the rockpile yesterday to try to russle up a few hoos! Got our first line wet a 6:15. I was putting out the first line in the dark. Just as I was putting the rubberband on the line for the down rigger a hoo pulled the rubberband out of my hand! First fish in the box at 6:20 and still dark. Started to put the spread back out and bamm! The bridge rod goes off with the Rasta Bar on it! Fish is going nuts behind the boat but it was still too dark to make it out. Got the fish within gaff range and it was Mr. Whitey! Nice fat one too. Wanted to get the hook out so we brought him up on the gunnel and got a few pics. Two fish and it's not even 6:30. Spread goes back out and 5 minutes later the downrigger rod goes off. 5 minutes and a 30# yellowfin in the box. Had a hoo, a white and a tuner all before 6:45. Our day slowed after that but we did manage to bail a dozen or so nice gaffers

Great job on your day Al. Gotta love a white one on the Rasta Bar. We ended up with 6 hoos and a white. Good luck today!

It was nice to have a hoo, a white and a tuna in the first 45 minutes. I pretty much sucked after that. Pino caught 5 within sight of us in the afternoon. We couldn't get a bite in the after noon?
