OC Report, or lack there of!
So tried to squeeze in one last charter this Friday and Saturday, before the boat gets pulled and blocked for the winter at sunset, on Wednesday. Monday's forecast for Friday was 5-10 knots, 2-3. Well Friday came along and things changed. Small craft through Friday night. Since the forecast had it laying down late Friday night, the charter decided to try for Saturday.
Saturday the inshore forecast was 3-4, 10-15 knots, SE while the offshore was supposed to 3-5, 10-15 knots SE. Bumpy, but do-able. We, along with a handful of other boats in the fleet decided to make the run. We were heading to the Washington 500 line looking for what little temp/semi warm water temp break there was on the charts. Well some much for the forecast, It was all of 6'+ and that was only in the first 10 miles. We got about 25 off before we called uncle! Always an adventure on days like yesterday. At least one boat did well on shark. The mojo brought in a 350-400 lb mako from the jackspot. I guess next years another season! -D I'll have another post in MArty's forum about how this truly is a small world!! Last edited by Capt-D; 11-06-2005 at 09:20 AM. |

OC
Sure wish OC had a warm Gulf Stream flow about 30 miles out year round !!
Imagine what that would be like for us OC fisherman. Then all we would need would be flat seas ![]() |
