Ran down to about the 700 in 50 fathoms. Water was 73 degress. We were trying to get my dad a birthday white or two. Had Ed (Purple Cedar Plug) from the Recon Ended up having three shots at one, but never were able to get one hooked up. Did pick a dolphin behind the dredge.
Several boats in the area were picking away on whites until around 11 am when it really seemed to shut down. Reeled in at 2:30 and for home with increasing winds at our backs.
All in all a nice day on the water with some action, funnel clouds and friends.
I hadn't really planned on it before watching for more water to move in closer, but on the way out of town last weekend, I noticed that this coming weekend is OCTOBERFEST! I haven't been to that in OC, but it sounds like a good time. Thinking about hitting that and maybe fishing right out front or something if the winds cooperate.
