Crab mustard is good
OC Report - 8/19
Robert and I left the dock around 5:15 am on Sunday morning to join the rush hour traffic leaving OC Inlet. The plan was to start the day trolling around the Hambone and then head out the the Baltimore if we thought it would be worth it. Plenty of boats at the Hambone when we set out our spread so I decided to move to the eastern edge and beyond to avoid the crazyness. I have some advice to anyone that trolls with wwwwb's, - stay away from everyone and do all you can to avoid cutting in front of other boats. With that many boats out there it's nuts to be in the pack with 300 yds of line out.
Now to the report - we started the day with a nice Wahoo in the box on a yellow/green Islander and shortly thereafter had one zip some drag, ran across the spread twice and pull off. Luckily we got the blue/pink Islander back. We slid a little further out to a nice edge and released 2 nice False Albacore. Decided to stay in closer since it didn't sound like the Baltimore was any better and never leave fish to find fish. Slid back in towards the Hambone near the end of the day and released another nice False Albacore. We did find a nice 2 degree break a couple of miles outside of the Hambone (74.5-76.5). Here's a shot of Robert with his Wahoo. Guess what I'm having for dinner tonight!
