    OC Report 7/3

Left the dock early with plans of heading to washington, but first stopping inshore for the first hour and trying for a bluefin. Had lines in on the spot by 0515. Fished until 0630, catching one mahi and missing two other mahi bites. No tuna bites.

Headed to the rockpile then trolled out to the 461. Caught one nice gaffer on a lantern witch. worked back to the tip hoping to find some balls with dolphin. Trolled past a few balls and had dolphin whack some baits. Cleared lines and tried to bail, but only managed one - even using live bait! Oh well, back on the troll, but no love.

Congrats to Reel Estate on their first white. Pretty boat and man, does thing ROLL! I had to push the cat up coming into the inlet in order to make way for Reel Estate and White Lighting drag race to the jetty! Curtis, where are you keeping that boat at?

    Thanks...

We were pretty happy on Saturday with that white one. We're tied up at Harbor Island. Slip #8. Stop by any time. I will try and post some pics and video as time permits. We always joke that as soon as fishing ends for the day, we switch to NASCAR mode for the race to make the drawbridge... We have issues...

    Give us a shout.

    Hey Reel Estate ,
We were heading out in front of you on the Fugitive (the Yellow Express) out of Bahia on saturday morning. We missed two what seemed to be nice tuna bites inshore. We ended up working our way offshore bailing a couple dolphin and looking for yellowfin that we never found. We worked our way back inshore looking for an afternoon bluefin bite to turn our luck around and ended up getting a nice bite on the downrigger bait only to get it to the boat and see a 7ft dusky had ate our pink/white ilander ballyhoo setup tough day for us i have some video of you coming out of the inlet behind us too

oh btw we will be tied up in harbor island july 10th to the 18th with the Fountain Ill have to stop up and say hello

Great picture and nice looking rig. I was the 23' Grady "D'ANGLER" right behind you when you past through the Kelly Draw. Unfortunately, it was a tough day for us. We ended up with 1 nice mahi and 1 bailer. Also, jumped off a few mahi but could not find the tuna bite.

Reelparadise - Cool pic, thanks. Would love that video if there was a way to get it. Please stop by and say hey if we are on the boat and you are around. Same to you Finatic. We love to show off Ritchie's work when we can.

Good luck to you guys. We will be at it again this weekend I am sure.

    hey Curtis,

We'll be taking the pontooner to H Island this afternoon....will stop by if you're around. I fished yesterday with Ed on the Recon up north. Slow day for meat, but we did release a nice blue one. Still debating on size, but figure around 400. I'll let Ed post up a report and show some pics.

Sick boat Curtis...congrats. CRE world is dead...great time to take advantage of the fishing. You may remember me, I'm buddies with Schline, I came to your house to pick up bait with no cash a either last summer or the summer before.

See you out there this summer, we'll be on the Sea Splendour (Whiteys boat) for the WMO.

    Cool...

Hey guys...again, thanks for all the kind words. We fished yesterday up in the Wilmington. Saw two whites...one didn't eat, the other was hooked up but we had an equipmet failure that caused for it to come unbuttoned...oh well, that is fishing. Be back at it tomorrow.

Taylor...you said it...CRE is tough right now...glad we got the boat when we did. And as a friend of Schline's and Vaughan's, no one is surprised you showed up without any money!

Give us a shout...we sit on channel 1.
