OC Report 5/30 (non tuna fishing)

I did a little scouting for mako mania on the 20, just south of the sausages. I figured that I knew there were makos chasing tunas in the deep, why not see if there are any closer to home. And that is why this is a non tuna report, rather than a shark catching report. Plenty of bluefish, no flying purple people eaters. No rolling blue dummies either.

Looks like the sushi bar on the 100 is the shark hangout. Hopefully that forecast for this weekend keeps dropping.

OH AND BTW..... not only can they fish, but Shark, Chilli, and Ark can be damn entertaining with rubber squids, video cameras and drunk bar patrons. Lets get them posted boys!!!!

The 65 is out in the canyons, I was scouting the inshore structure. Looking back at logbooks from years gone by (spring time fishing)low 60's on the structure has been the lion's share of my fish over 250. Which is why I wanted to give it a whirl, prefishing for the tourney this weekend. The makos I have heard about in with the tunas have been 80ish to 175 ish, which might not cut it this weekend. But makos is better than no makos, and I have heard rumors of a big one caught in the trolling fleet today, but I have not yet confirmed it.
