killing stuff cause it feels good
OC Report 5/23
Ok here is a brief summary- jackspot was void of catches today. several of us there, no love. I made it to the hambone and caught a few bluefish over an hour of effort.
Some blue sharks in the baltimore, and i heard one boat call in a 35 inch BFT inshore of the baltimore.
Overall it was a slow day.

Crab mustard is good
I'm going tomorrow. Doesn't sound promising. I might throw the chum bucket over, maybe that will get them going?

Crab mustard is good
Franky,
we had UNREAL gaffer fishing down at the 950 out of vb all weekend. Nice class of fish and all you want. I fished that on friday and had 350 pounds of gaffers and a couple two possibly three yellowfin bites. Big blue marlins seen in the area. A mako or two caught. The boats that fished that area on saturday did even better on 15-25 pound gaffers with some boats catching a limit. There were a couple blue marlins seen again(none caught), a couple tunas caught, a mako caught, and a huge 700#ish mako seen cruising the surface for a long time by several boats in the fleet, but no one would sacrifice a tuna to get a bite out of her. Both days there was a handful of boats fishing it.
I fished the hotdog out of VB on saturday and my mate can confirm that we saw (with my own two eyes) pods of large 100-200# class bluefins pushing water on several occasions. Had them under my rigger for 15 minutes and saw them bust and push water several times. Plenty of them there, but no bites out of them. Also saw a 150# class mako cruising the top. Water temp was 62 degrees. Bait balls, bonitas busting, lots of life in there in 15 fathoms. I would imagine the blue sharks are thick as theives out there on the fingers.
