OC, MD report June 23

Been fishing on a private boat for a few weekends. Saturday, they took a friend out for his bachelor's party, so I brought my best friend, Canyon Dreams, to be crew with me.

Fished the hambone & hotdog, without much luck. Got to hambone around 6 AM. few troll bites for others, but no love for us. picked up & ran to the hotdog. the chunkers were still getting it done from a bite that started early. we had decided to not chunk the day, so we had no bait to chunk. saw a few troll bites happen too, but from what I heard, the better bite was on the chunk. we caught one small dolphin.

trolled our way to the sausages where we caught a small dolphin & a 78 lbs wahoo. unlucky fish, caught on a 100 lb mono leader. good finish to a slow day.




Water was hot, too hot. 78-81 degress.
best bite was right on top the high spot of the hotdog.
marlin bite in the washington, while a friend broke off a nice bigeye there as well.
