trying to plan offshore trip to poormans or baltimore this weekend. wondering anyone heard of any tuna or anything yet or if they are catching them somewhere else???? thanks guys
As of yesterday there was a real nice piece of water pushing up on the 100f to about the 900 line. The shot is too cloudy today to see what it's doing.
I've herd of a few tuna. That mit be because everybody has been sharking.
I'me planning on going Saturday. I think I'll stop at the bone or dog and try for a blue fin before running out to poormans.
Sorry for the late post, but there are YFT out there.
Maiden voyage for the Majic Moment 2009 season. Like everyone said, fog sucked. Determined to stick with our plan we went deep for Poormans. Dropped lines at the 100 in 62 degree water. Trolled all the way to the 1,000 with a skippy and pulled hook on a mahi to show. Heard of some bites back in at the 100 so at 2:00 I made the decision to pick up and run back in. On the way at about 500 fathoms saw what looked to be tunas pushing water. Dropped em in and game on! 3 for 5 on YFT first pass. Reloaded and went two for 3 with a few more skippys mixed in. reloaded and bigger splashes. BFTs this time and caught two, kept one. packed up and headed back into the fog home. YFT were mostly 30 inch class, but YFTs none the less! BFTs were 40 inch. Lesson learned not to give up. All fish caught in the last 45 minutes. Ride home from almost 70 miles out sucked, but loaded cooler made it better!
