    OC july 3, mako & mahi

    All the mahi hit way backs on 80's while searching for mr. bluefin in 30 fathoms. Came back into one of the sausages and had 12 rods go down with bluefish. 10-12 foot hammerhead grabbed one of the bluefish and my mom fought him for half an hour on an 80 with him pulling drag only to have him spit it at the boat, wasn't even hooked just holding on. With all the tuna stuff destroyed from the blues I decided to throw the chum bucket over. 1/2 hour later here comes mr. mako who decides to grab the close rig which is on a shimano jigging rod with an avet HX! Put on a great aerial show and Mr. Jeff Goodwin did an excellent job of subduing him on the light outfit.. Shame the mahi were so big, they make the mako look tiny..........

    Great decision to try the sharks. Very nice photographs of an excellent catch (particularly the mako on the wire pic!) Congratulations!
