Fished with Joey on the Hard Head 7/26 I know he posted that report already, but it was great to be back on the water with Joey. Catching a pair of whiteys with a captain that does not panic when you have both of them wrapped up in your tuna spread after picking them off the teasers made life easy for me. God its a pain in the ass getting whitey to clear the pattern with spreaders bars and 8 or 10 other tuna items in the way. Additionally, its great when the captain comes off the bridge to help with the bailing when the little yellow bastards are hungrier than your bait or rig supply. Always a pleasure to fish with Joey. Makes me miss the mid 90's and early 2000's more and more all the time (for those who don't know, he was my mate from 95 to 02).
Fished the Mugger on 7/27 (2 boat bachelor party trip, my group bails, Mugger Jeff's mate does not show up- not my boat, but hey I'm still on the water). Went to Massey's and caught 3/6 bft's wwwb bally's purple or blue witches being the best. I did tell the bachelor that an old Japanese tradition involves the eating of a BFT eye for luck in the upcoming marriage. He was drunk enough to believe me, and to do it!!
Back on the Call for 7/28. Fished the Rockpile. 1/1 yft naked on the flat. 20 or so Dolphins off the balls. Pretty slow out there.
Last Call 7/29 AM half. Fished the jackspot. Spoons and planers 3 kings and 12 or so bluefish.
