OBX, JPR ,OTI,CITATION GROUPER

well i was down the OBX for a week and was able to get one trip in with fishskipper, and mate jeff
both great guys to fish with and their ability to get you on fish is second to none
we left the dock at appox 6am
had a good ride to OI
after a short rollercoaster ride we cleared the inlet and steamed offshore to the bottomfish grounds
i had my 2 daughters and their friend aboard for the trip
after a nice ride out we stoped and baited a rod and got the OTI jigs ready for their OBX trial
also we had alot of acid rods, and some ACID HONEY Lami, on board
well jeff droped the baited rod . and BAM fish on, he looks over to my daughter steph, and says, here you go steph
she looks at him like he has 2 heads

i say, she wont take the rod if you hooked the fish

my other daughter came out of the cabin and reeled the fish in.
jeff quickly got stef baited up..and she dropped down BAM. fish on,
both had nice tile fish
i dropped a OTI Pink JAGER 300g..bam another fish on
this lasted about 45minutes
we had double heeader tile, and blue fish
some nice quality fish
after a very short slow period we made a move back to the fish
again jig and bait continue to produce
then the water behind the boat explodes..shark jumping..SWEET..
we drifted a little more then 4-5 ACID rods were all BENT
i was hooked up with a NICE fish on the OTI JIG
we pulled in a double herder of tiles and a blue
Stef had a battle going on..finally a GROUPER started showing color. came to baot and we were happy a nice 13# grouper hit the deck
i am still fighting a rodbending fish on the OTI JIG, finally getting another GROUPER to the boat..nice fish. we bleed the fish and back at the dock on the scale..21# GROUPER..good enough for citation in NC
it was my first grouper and a citation fish i was excited
we fish a little while longer .still catching pretty good
and ws able to get everyone tired and came in early with limits of tile and a few grouper to make dinner SWEET
thanks Capt Ron and Mate Jeff for a great day with the family
the OTI jigs and line did work great down there
next trip will be a little further south in NC to get the OTI spread around on boats and shops

Nice work Paul !!

It was good seeing you and talking to you the other day at the dock. I was impressed with your rods and it sounds like they got put through the test pretty good also.

We went deep dropping on friday and hit them pretty good also, we had one Snowy about 12 pounds and one Yellowfin about 8 pounds along with a mess of Sea bass including a 6 pound citation and a limit of tiles. There some great fishing going on out there right now, glad you got to make the trip.

Troy, it was nice seeing you again also. glad you liked the rods you looked at
they worked great on those fish
you guys have a great bottom fishery down there
the tiles and grouper and seabass were really fun to catch

Paul,
Really enjoyed having you and the girls fish with us. Your custom rods are the best jigging rods I've seen. To those looking for a great jigging rod, I highly recommend these sticks. Glad the day worked out . The next day was a little tougher for us but we did manage to pick out a limit with one snowy and some sea bass. I think if we would of had some of those OTI jigs it would have made a big difference.
