Wow Glenn, you almost sounded like politician just now.
Sorry buddy, sometimes when I make posts during work, I'm still in work mode and language--- My wife won't even let me talk to her for a least a day after a trial
I honestly don't care what he said during the campaign. Between the economy tanking, the falure of the Republicans to come up with a decent candadate and Bush's precipetious drop in popularity, his election was inevitable.
No doubt about that
What I can't stand is his closeing the door on opportunities to reduce our dependance on oil imported from people that don't like us. That and the fact that offshore drilling will create thousands of well paying jobs and actually move us closer to a production economy instead of the importation and consumption economy.
I disagree and you are living a pipe dream if you think opening up our off-shore waters will have any material impact on oil prices or have a material impact on our need to import the majority of our petroleum requirements.
And even worse is it's done to appease the extremests who he has surrounded himself with (which I guess shouldn't be a supprise because he is and always has been one of them)
I agree that Obama has alligned himself with many that we would consider extremists. However, there are many, many moderates that feel the potential benefits are just not there right now--- first on the list would be George Bush, Sr. that implemented the ban
