Orca off the spencer in the late 80's
I'll go first. This shot was taken the day after the Ocean City NJ overnight swordfish tournament. The fishing was excellent in the deep of the spencer. As I recall, we had 80 degree blue water and were really surprised to see two Orca Whales this far south and in such warm water. At the time, we had a 45' Hatteras with a huge 9 step tower, and actually trolled over one of them and to watch him below the spread was simply amazing. we had to troll over 9 knots to keep up with them.

This has to be one of my favorite pictures because it is the first daytime swordfish (that we know of) that was targeted and caught off of the Virginia Coast. (Dec. 2007). This is a picture of myself and a co-worker and great friend Chris Mcinturff. Those not seen and equally important to the trip, were Randy Morton and his son Jacob. The four of us have fished many times and Randy, his son and I have been fishing together for 8 years now. In 2005 we started to get the itch to try something new and that was swordfishing. We did a few overnighters and then had some help from a friend whom had been fishing out of South FL. We (Randy, His son, Wife and I) had done an overnighter earlier this year and caught Five swords and lost several more and got two keepers (one 64# and one 225# fish. A few weeks latter and after hearing that they had begun to catch daytime swords down in Florida, we headed back to the same area off the Cigar and tired four drops after a morning of trolling for Tuna. This was the third drop. We had no instruction to this point and were only told that the fish were near the bottom. So we put 10# of lead on the line and sent the rod down. Sure enough like a croaker, the rod tipp began to twitch immediately. The rest is the picture. A group of four friends recreationally fishing and trying to develope a new type of fishery on the Mid Atlantic. Thanks for the Donation of the Rod!!! and since no one else has posted (HEHE!!!) i will vote for your photo of the Orca, b/c that is just plainly something cool that not everybody gets a chance to see. Casey

Wild about fishing
here is a picture of my youngest son Alden when he was about 10 or 11. He is a wide open kind of guy. And was fired up catching that big red off the dock. we were at my best friend, Mark's, camp. which is one of the best places to fish in the world.

35 lb Bull Dolphin off Little Harbour, Bahamas. Folks on Board were completely content with catching small blackfins on 50's. Then I found a temp break with an awesome color change. They forgot all about those little Blackfins and Skippy's when this guy found my Islander/Bally Combo
