Maybe not my favorite picture but for sure my favorite little boat and engines... Snapshot does make for a good souvenir when dreaming about fishing instead of playing on the puter!

I'm using an Ahi photo to pay tribute to the threads author.
This Ahi was caught during the last 45 minutes of a Marlin Tourney in Kona. We were fishing live Aku and it was my time to take over the 2 rods we were bait-fishing with. Our Kiwi mate was a trooper as he was hand lining for 4 straight hours as we rotated rods and baits. Finally, towards the end of my shift he calmly tells me the bait is getting nervous and to get ready. Thirty seconds later we are bit...I hop in the chair with the 130 and start retreiving line in pace with the boat in reverse. After about 15-20 seconds the Capt. gives the signal and hits the throttles in gear and I wind like mad.........we're on!
It only took about 45 seconds for the boat to realize we were hooked to an Ahi...which was a junk fish for the tourney..but money for the Capt. and crew. So we stuck another Aku back in the spread and pinned the drags up on the 130 and I had 10 minutes to bring her in.
As I worked this fish to the boat feverishly I got to experience what a green fish with the drags pinned can do....lifted my skinny arse off the chair twice and put a pretty decent bend in the 130 lb class telephone pole we were using as gear. Well, I got her up...we kept fishing the whole time, and then I got a chuckle as it took the leader man and gaffer 5 extra minutes to wrestle her on board.
We ended the tourney with 2 released Blues and the Capt and crew got a little extra cash with our 165 lb "junk fish".

This is what us offshore tuna fishermen dream about every night.

capt. trif
2001 halfway down baja fishing yellowtail and we see thousands of ballslappers free jumping toward us. Brail some sardines and game on...2 and 1/2 hours and 525 dorado later...the cooks even came out of their hole

Mike,
That one of yours is a true classic. Pretty shot.
