No, not saltwater. But a story none the less. Contrary to most of the posts so far, in this post the story makes the picture, not vice versa.

It was the day before my fifteenth birthday (which is on Oct 29) in 2007 and my dad and I decided to hook up the little boat and go walleye fishing. We had caught a few walleye and a few smallmouth on fun light tackle setups: 6 pound test and light action rods. I thought I had a snag when all of a sudden the snag started moving. Long story short, chasing him with the trolling motor because of the small line capacity, I landed a CARP in a little over 15 minutes. I thought he was a trash fish so I was about to get my dad to help me toss him back in when my dad brought up the idea that he may be a state record. We called mom at home, found out that this fish may, indeed, be a state record and got him weighed at Shaws. Yea, we got some funny looks with a giant cooler in a shopping cart with this huge tail sticking out. Ended up beating the previous NH record by almost 3 pounds. And after all the hoopla was over, we tossed him in the woods behind the house.

Ended up being a great birthday present!

My vote goes to C-Note. Even though they are posing for the picture, in a way it's almost as if they're not. I love how you can tell that it's just a bunch of guys out having a great time catching lots of fish. Picture tells the story.

Anyway, here's a pic of the carp's ugly mug.

"And after all the hoopla was over, we tossed him in the woods behind the house. " I love that quote. I think that is to only state record fish laid to rest that way. Nice Carp!

Series of shots

I have about 15,000 shots on my laptop but I do have a series of shots that I love and hold great meaning to me.

**Disclaimer these shots were taken during a rogue wave, the seas were really flat otherwise or my son would have had a PFD on.

Story ... we were fishing with Dean Panos of Double D Charters and we were booked for 2 days of swordfishing as my son's goal was to be the youngest angler to complete the total billfish slam. (he now has 5 types)

We were blown out from swording so Dean suggested we do two days of sailfishing as the north wind was blowing good for them and there was a tournament going. We had never fished for sails this way so it was all new to us. 6 baits on two kites and we went 20 for 25 in 2 days all but one Anthony landed at about 11 years old.

These shots were taken while he landed and RELEASED the junior world record atlantic sailfish as a rogue wave hit us.

I was so proud that after measuring and confirming estimated weight he decided to release the sail even though it would have shattered the current record. Makes you feel like your doing something right in this crazy world

Very cool Gman... Your son is sure to thank you in the future if he has not done so already, because not many 11 year olds get to have the experiences you are shining him onto. Pretty work, and great shots to everyone. Still looking

Awesome Striper bite one afternoon. And yes, all those in the black bucket were released unharmed into our throats.
Conner, that is a nice pose. I bet you guys won't forget that for the rest of your lives!
