NORWEGIAN FISHING LAST JUNE

Just saw this new thread(to me).
I went up to NORWAY to fish Cod/Haddock/Coalfish/ Halibut . I hit 5 five different coastal cities for these fish. I WACKD 'N STACKD all BUT the HALIBUT. The best (biggest) went over thirty pounds of Cod. Mostly the fish were between 3-15 pounds. A big soread on weight. The fishing gets BETTER and better the later in the year it gets. TOO COLD and DANGEROUS for this old body. It's a young mans game when you wrestle with 200+ pound HALIBUT when your in a survival suit. My biggest Halibut went a mere 20 pounds. I did not fish for the big ones.
You can rent small boats and catch these monsters just off the beach. The water drops very quickly to 600+ feet .
EVEN in the FIORDS, standing next to(20 feet away) from the FIORD edge( 3 miles INSIDE of the FIORD) I was fishing 170 feet of water The ledge down there was 10 feet wide and loaded with fish. Move out another 20 feet and your fishing in 300 + feet. Another ledge loaded with fish.
I used nothing but NORWEGIAN made jigs and some of the new Japanese jigs. BOTH PRODUCED well. The new small diameter lines wer a pleasure to fish with. The locals who fished with were AMAZED at what I could do with them. I gave them the rod/reel/lure combo and the were amazed at how light and fun it was to fish with! YOUWZA!
If anyone is interested, I can give you the name and address of a SUPER HOTEL and FISHING BOAT(S) and GUIDE who takes care of YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. The food was superb. The rooms wre CLEAN and the view and sight seeing were great.

Id like to know where you stayed. I am actually norwegain/american and go back to visit family every summer. It would be fun to maybe get some bigger stuff. Most of the cod I get are like the picture. Still fun though.
