    Norfolk Report

We (buddy Fred, son Tim and I) fished the Eastern Shore Marlin Club tournament this weekend out of Wachapreague. We fished the Norfolk Friday and Saturday (7/27 & 7/28). Friday we caught a small YFT and a dolphin. The dolphin was leading the dolphin division for about 3 minutes - it was the first weighed in (7.5 lbs). We also had a mystery bite on the WWB Green machine/bird combo and released 5 Skippys. On Saturday, we started putting our lines out at 8:00 at the 30 fa line just NW of the Norfolk and the WWB started singing with what had to be a big fish. We didn't even have all the lines out yet. Half the spool of the 50W was gone by the time we had the lines cleared. Fred had the line back on within 20-25 minutes and we put a 56 lb Wahoo in the box. Circled for a while and moved to the NW corner of the Norfolk. First trip down the wall resulted in a nice YFT for Tim. A little while later I got a smaller YFT in the same spot. We trolled along to North wall to deeper water and broke off a 150-200 lb Blue Marlin. We also had a couple of mystery bites that were thought to be Whites. Here are some pictures we took.

At the weigh-in we found the 56 lb Wahoo to be 1.2lbs smaller than one that was just weighed in - so close. We had a great time and hope to fish it again next year.
