Cool Ninth Annual BTB Mako Rodeo Brielle, NJ - JOIN A GREAT CAUSE!!

This was sent out by the tournament director via email and I just copied and pasted for FYI to all who normally participate

    ENJOY THE SEASON UPON US!

    MARY

The NJ DEP Division of Fish and Wildife has received notice that the federal government has agreed to give New Jersey until July 30 to implement regulations necessary to avoid a shark fishing moratorium. Thus, the season has been saved and we have scheduled dates for the Annual BTB Mako Rodeo. While we have been given a reprieve for what is substantially most of the 2009 season and are thankful for the NJDEP’s efforts to come into compliance, we hope in the coming months a more permanent resolution can be found.

Entering its Ninth Year, the Brett T. Bailey Foundation will host the Annual Mako Rodeo on Friday June 18th and Saturday June 199h (details below). The Brett T. Bailey Foundation will once again be working with local charities including the NJ National Guard Family Assistance Program. The Foundation remains the top contributor to the families of those serving in the War on Terror. With your support, the Foundation raised over $20,000 again last year for the State of New Jersey National Guard and Reservists, to financially assist those active individuals and families in need, who have decided to make the ultimate sacrifice, to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, to preserve our way of life. After extensive research and discussion among our board, the Foundation also recently made a $5,000 donation to Doctors Without Borders, for their ongoing and commendable efforts not only in Haiti, but around the world. We could not be happier to continue these efforts for the many worthy causes we have identified over the years.
Remember, you don't need to fish to participate and support the foundation's cause. Here is an agenda of the weekend's festivities, please help us spread the word and join us if your schedule permits.

Glad to see they moved it back a week so it doesn't conflict with the SJ tourney. We're in...

    Mary,

Good to hear that the tournament is a go. We will donate items that will include some of our shark trolling lures, shark chumming and trolling books, some special shark art, plus some of our new shirts (mako and thresher designs). We are finishing up a major show out here, so Chris Jones will be in touch with you next week with the prize list.

The value of the goods will be over $900.

Good luck, especially for the families of our good troopers!
