He does a good bit of fishing and in quite a few places. Many of the marinas I have stopped into through time have had pictures of George HW Bush there for a fishing trip. He is definitely fisheries advocate. He is or at least was for some time very involved in helping to protect and rebuild redfish and sea trout stocks along the gulf coast. The only negative thing I can say for him about fisheries is that he was one of the founders of Zapata- which has since changed names to something we are more familiar with, Omega Protein. I'm not so sure how involved he was with his former companies raping of the menhaden fishery, but generally he seems to be quite the outdoorsman and has spaced himself pretty far from Omega.
