Having just graduated from a panga to a Contender with outriggers, it's about time for us to work our way up another notch on the offshore fishing ladder. I was just looking at teasers. The local shop has a string of rubber ballyhoo that looks good to me, but I was reading about these mirrored blocks some people tow instead of a string of artificials. Water is as clear here as the ocean gets. I am wondering if a string of soft-rubber ballyhoo wouldnt get shredded pretty quick by the wahoo here. I was also wondering if because of the bright sun and clear water, one of those mirrored thingy's might not attract fish from long distances, and have a higher survivability rate once they got close enough to realize its not a meal.
Any advice on which type of teaser should work best in clear, tropical water? Will probably end up with both types. eventually.
