I just saw this and thought I would post it up. Capt Jim Brincefield on the Jil Carrie just landed another potential record Blueline Tilefish. 18lbs 10 ounces. More than a pound than the original all tackle record. Angler was Doug Deese of Hampton VA. Weighed at Long Bay Pointe Bait and Tackle. Congrats Jim and Doug.

thats a record that will keep falling. probably by capt jim's customers. Kept my boat at the same marina as Capt Jim this winter and got to speak with him several times. Super nice guy and he can clean fish a lot faster than me...
I was the co-captain on that trip and that was one fat tile. Same length as my old record at 17lb 5 oz, but a lot thicker. Doug is a heck of a nice guy and an excellent angler, I couldn't be happier for him. Of course Jim is happy to have the record back on the Jill Carrie too. I agree, the record is going to keep falling and will probably end up in the 22-24 lb range.
Nice going, Jim & Doug. We get 'em down here too. Not nearly as tasty as the Goldens but they fight just as well.
It'll be ofFISHial in 90 days by IGFA and then you can really celebrate.
