Awesome Fish!!! Congrats to Terry and the crew, I hope he or someonw else posts the whole story on how that beast was caught. I did here they needed help getting her in the boat!!
Hats off to those guys, regardless if the record is ever broken, but could there ever be a better season. 2/2 on shark tournaments and a New state record to boot. They are still out there where Billy left off.
I was down there for the tournament and was standing about 10 feet from that monster. From the word on the dock, Terry and the crew hooked up around 3:20 pm, 10 minutes before the lines had to be out, and it was the only bite of the day. 73 miles out and and hour and a half later they got it to the boat...another boat had to come out and help get it in the boat. Dont know what kind of boat but it was brought in on the other not Terry's. Up until then first place was 271 lbs, and obviously that was crushed. Good times and was an incredible sight. Like I said that is what I was told by many people, so take it with a small grain of salt. Also the new Thresher Shark record was caught by a guy who has never caught a shark, but unfortunatley they were not in the tournament. Part of the reason the thresher weighed so much was because she was pregnant with four babies.
