All boats I know (C-32s) who had tubes added also bumped up the HP and changed the pitch in the wheels, so it's difficult to discern exactly what part the tubes played in the speed increase vs. the different wheels that pull the higher HP out of the engines.

A friend who has a 45' Express "Buzzkill" had the tubes installed after fishing the boat for two years or so. I had thought about them for my 41' Scarborough Express but my friend saw no speed or fuel use difference with the tubes and he talked me out of them.

We both saw some value from coating the running gear with PropSpeed though.
