    Twofinbluna,
    Welcome to the site.
I have been going to Maine and lived there for a spell for about 35 years now.
I have a house in so. Addison And the last time I was up there I noticed somthing at my uncles house......Herring in the cove Hell even the bald eagles were there!. I will put up some pics of the eagles in a little bit. I havent seen herring in the cove for years..I mean years. I said to myself wow its working the reduced fishing on the herring is working!! If they can keep up with this and make it stick then I see good things to come for the gulf of maine. I was talking to a local fisherman by the name of poo (oscar look) who fishes for GBT and he said the numbers of tuna were way off this year (August 2006) but he noticed a rise in the herring. If this thing works then the GBT will be back...no doubt... the only loosers I see in this are the lobster men. But I think there will be a better bait for em.

Yeah post those pics if you got em, love to see them.

Lobster bait is definilty going to be an issue but like you said, I think they will overcome it somehow...and its better to have to pay a little more for bait than to have no herring left just down the road...because thats where this thing was headed.

    Here are the pics
the first one is a ospray with a herring

    Eagle flying around

ever see a clam like this?
I think its a steamer that mated with a quahog, we have to draggers that offload their quahogs in the bay and I think they mixed?

    This is a comparision
The first one is the freak clam the second is a quahog the last on is steamer.
