    Need a Rod suggestion

My Father in -Law gave me a Penn TRQ300 as a thank you for taking care of his dog, Does anybody have a rod suggestion that they really like comboed to it. It will catch mostly school Bluefins Albies, Bonita and shark, possibly yellowfin if the weather cooperates this year for me. Also what line would you rec the 30 Mono or an 80 braid that it is rated for? To me the 80 braid seems a bit much but you all are more experienced then me, opinions appreciated

if you want a graphite rod the WAHOO JR is popular with jigging guys and also for using bait down in Fla catching grouper and such..if you are looking for a more forgiving rod the new superseeker are sweet..also the calstar GF would be really nice matched with that rod

you should be able to get enough 80# on the reel to handle any fish. the 80 may be a little better to work with than the 65 or 50#..for jigging i would look for a good jigging line 65 or 80# class

I have the same reel on a butterfly rod, with 80lb braid. I love the set up, the line retrive is quick.

I'd line it with 80lb hollowcore, so you can have wind on topshots, no knots exposed. I'd match it with a 6'6" Trevala rod from Shimano TVC66H. A 6'6" rod will give you more action then a 6' rod. A 6' rod may be better if you will not be jigging all the time. I've used this exact setup to put 80+lb yellowfin's in the boat both jigging and chunking. The jig rods are super fun and do not wear the angler out.
